What great pleasure it is for me, to be here with all the visionary young challengers from all around the world and of course the inspirational sharing by successful social entrepreneurs and it has really inspired us to develop our project when we get back to Malaysia. It’s going to be a very fruitful trip for us these coming few days.
One of the inspirational and enriching learning from today’s Young Challengers Meeting was the idea that social business is like a philosophy of the ideal business model in the new era which is applicable to all kind of business and it’s not necessary to start from zero. In fact, any business model can be transformed into a social business. It’s our decision whether want to make our existing business or idea into one that delivers social impact.
Principle #3 of social business states that there’s no dividend given to investors beyond the invested amount. This is where I disagree. In my opinion, there are dividends! The dividends generated from the investment in social business is not in the form of money, in fact, the dividend is the improvement of social welfare.
I believe it would be much more impactful and profound in the long term for our community. Through this idea, it has somehow inspired me and my team on how we can convince investors to invest in our project.
The power of thinking is big. As a social entrepreneur, don’t be afraid about others look at you. Your idea might seem ridiculous to them. Always remember that do not simply give up on your idea and holding on to the strong belief that there must, and will be, a solution. Once you find out the solution, execute it, things will automatically fall into place.
We are super duper lucky to get this shot, all thanks to Fahmi!!
